The Task

This is a graphic design I created for project 2 in my Media Studies and Production class at Temple. I applied my skills and knowledge of raster and vector editing in Photoshop to create a unified graphic design.I was inspired to create an album cover because music is an important part of my life.

Applications Used

The parts of my project that are raster include the motel background image, the ufo, the man being abducted, and the parental advisory label. The part of my project that is vector is the album title “Do I Stay Or Do I Go”. I had to download that specific text font to use for my project so it would fit my theme.

Tools

I wanted my image to have a cartoonish look to it and I achieved it with the plastic wrap filter. I put the highlight strength setting at four, the detail setting at 11 and the smoothness setting at 6. An important factor was making my different image clippings into one smart object so I could put the plastic wrap filter over everything.

Learning Curve

Using photoshop was a learning curve in itself for me considering it was my first time using it, although I have confidence in my skills now that I am at the end of the course. And I believe my work reflects my hard work to improve my skills.
